What is CService?
Channel Services, also known as CService, is the organization responsible for helping users learn and take advantage of the features of K9, the official ChatNet channel bot and DogTag, the official ChatNet version of nickserv.
All CService members are trained volunteers who have a strong working knowledge of K9/DogTag commands and ChatNet policies and procedures.
They also handle the channel registration system and provide help in all registered channels on ChatNet.
CService memebers can usually be found in #Doghouse, the official CService assistance channel.
The memebers of Channel Services are here to help make IRC a pleasurable experience for our users.
A CService member is not the same as an IRCop (or oper). IRCop's maintain the servers for their administrators.
For instance, they make sure the servers are routed correctly and help with questions not related to K9 or channel registration issues.
A CService member's job is to maintain K9, help users with K9 and DogTag related problems and questions, and to coordinate and regulate the channel registration process.
A CService member may or may not also be an IRCop. There are restrictions on when a member can also be an IRCop. |
